of Australian uni students were food insecure in 2024.
Severe food insecurity rose from 17% to 29% in two years. International students, younger students and students living on campus are hit hardest. Most aren't short on effort. They're short on time, cooking confidence and a way to see which deals around them actually add up to a week of food. That's the job Stretch does.

How it works
About 2 minutes to set up- 01
Tell it how you live
Suburb, campus, weekly budget, how you eat, and whether you've got a full kitchen or a kettle and a microwave.

- 02
Swipe what looks good
Stretch turns the deals around you into dishes. Yum or nah. It learns your taste fast.

- 03
Get your week, every week
21 meals, one shopping list and the total against your budget. Next week's lands on its own.

Our mascot. And the agent behind your week.
Tile scouts this week's specials near you and deals you a deck of dishes. Swipe right on what you'd eat, left on what you wouldn't. Every swipe teaches Tile your taste, and next week's plan shows it.
go on, give Tile a pokeWhat you get
One list, sorted by store.
Everything for the week grouped by shop, with whole packs counted properly and what's already in your kitchen left off. Tick things off as you go.

Cooking for the kitchen you've got.
Every meal shows what it costs per serve, how long it takes, what you need and which deal it came from. Rice cooker and one pan? It plans around that.

It checks the shops so you don't.
Stretch reads this week's specials from the supermarkets, deal sites and cheap eats near you, hundreds of deals at a time, then keeps the ones worth your money.

Every price has a receipt.
Stretch never makes up a price. Every one links to where it was found and when. If something is an estimate, it says so. The maths on your total is done by plain old code, not guessed by AI.

A plan made for you
Claude, an AI by Anthropic, reads those deals, your kitchen and your swipes, then writes your meals. Code checks every dish against your diet and adds up every total.

Who makes Stretch?
A uni student in Melbourne who wanted to eat well on a student budget. Stretch won 1st place at Builders Hack: Unlocked, run by Lyra and Product Counsel, in October 2026, and has kept growing since.
Is Stretch free?
Yes. Stretch is free on iPhone, Android and the web, with no ads and no subscription.
Do I need an account?
No. Set up your week and use everything straight away. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and keeps your week on any phone or laptop.
Where do the prices come from?
From this week's public specials and deal sites, such as Woolworths, Coles, ALDI, IGA, Harris Farm, EatClub and student deal sites. Every price links to where it was found and when. When a shop doesn't list a price, Stretch marks its best guess as an estimate.
Does it work outside Australia?
Stretch knows Australian shops best and works in any suburb. Studying somewhere else? Overseas is in beta: it plans in your own currency with deals it finds on the web and clearly marked estimates.
Can it handle how I eat?
Yes. Pick vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, halal, Jain, no beef, no pork or no onion and garlic, add allergies and foods you can't stand, and tell it what's in your kitchen. Always check ingredients if you have an allergy.
How does the AI work?
Stretch uses Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, to suggest dishes and plan your week. It asks first and never gets your email address. Totals and budgets are added up by code, not by the AI.
How often do I get a new week?
A fresh week lands seven days after your last one, with that week's prices. If you've been away for a while, your next week is made when you come back.
